Job Description

The Hotel Front Office Manager is responsible for immediate and active management of all functional areas of guest registration, reservations, telephone services, guest accounting and for ensuring proper completion and accuracy of all front office and reservation duties.

Major responsibilities include:

  • Focus on guest service, guest retention, employee service incentives and scheduling
  • Communicate with guests and employees both verbally and in writing to answer questions and provide clear direction in advising and instructing staff in details of work
  • Hire staff for areas of responsibility, train, cross-train (when necessary) all staff
  • Reviews Daily Revenue Reports to ensure accuracy
  • Supervise, develop and coach all staff to company service expectations, policies & procedures
  • Implements and conducts training for all new front office (front desk/reservations) hires
  • Develop schedule and ensure proper staffing levels by managing payroll and control costs using labor standards, will assist with shifts, breaks, lunches and provide back-up on desk so labor stays to budget
  • Act as liaison between sales and reservations/front desk on groups
  • Responsible for creating the most personalized guest service by understanding, anticipating and serving the needs of our guests by exceeding their expectations and is aligned with the overall company Mission Statement
  • This position is required to work nights, weekends and holidays

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of Hotel Front Office experience
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to assist in all Front Office and Reservation operations, maintain organization, and manage guest concerns
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
