Under the direct supervision of the Chief Engineer, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for creating an inviting environment through gracious, engaging and caring interaction with all guests, vendors, managers and fellow team members.
The Maintenance Technician will stay constantly informed of occupancy, arrivals, stay overs and incoming loyal guests. The Houseman with Embassy Suites is responsible for preventative and repair maintenance in designated areas of the hotel and responding to guest requests in the hotels continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
• Self-accountability for performance to include, arriving to work on time and in a clean, pressed and properly maintained uniform.

• At all times be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow team members Be positively engaged while delivering exceptional service standards and work in unity with all members of management, fellow team members, guests and vendors
• Be knowledge of hotel products, services, facilities, events, pricing, policies and knowledge of the local area and events and consistently utilize up-selling techniques to promote hotel services and facilities to maximize food and beverage revenue
• Actively participate in highly effective daily huddles and departmental monthly meetings, when necessary seek out additional communication regarding hotel goals, brand standards, recognition, safety, community events, developmental training, and all compliance topics related to brand standards, as well as local, state and federal laws. Be positively engaged while delivering exceptional service standards and work in unity with all management, fellow team members, guests and vendors
• Get assignments, keys, pager, and special guest requests from your supervisor at the beginning of your shift
• Check and replenish your supplies and tools • Performs Maintenance Requests in commercial, back of the house, and guest room areas
• Performs the Guest Room, Commercial Space, and Equipment Preventative Maintenance Program as scheduled by the Chief Engineer
• Ensures that no guest dissatisfaction is caused as a result of Preventive Maintenance and requests being performed
• Reports problems requiring further action with solutions to the Chief Engineer as soon as is practical
• Maintains up-to-date, accurate records and reports on all guest rooms and work performed
• Performs timely inspections of all equipment
• Performs preventive maintenance in compliance with Embassy Suites standards, procedures and/or the manufacturer's recommendations • Performs hotel exterior clean up
• Check, repair and change as necessary light bulbs, ceiling tiles, emergency and exit lights and filters
• Emergency and Exit Lights

• Clean Mechanical Rooms and Maintenance Shop
• Ensure superior product quality which requires technical skills related to general electrical, plumbing, painting, drywall, carpentry, wallpaper, furniture restoration, HVAC, small engine, commercial kitchen equipment, vinyl and flooring installation and repairs
• Performs all work safely
• Quickly respond to guest requests in a timely and friendly matter
• Follow procedures for entering and leaving guest rooms
• Maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times
• Performs other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management
