The Human Resource Manager for the Embassy Suites Downtown Louisville will direct and ensure the efficient administration and management of all Human Resource functions, including recruiting, training, wage/benefit administration, compliance with statutory requirements and the execution of employee relations activities.  The individual provides each department with the personnel, guidance, and support necessary to achieve their guest service and business objectives.

  • Computer and office equipment skills at a proficient level required
  • Ability to read and interpret data
  • Fully competent and productive professional contributor, working independently on larger, moderately complex projects/assignments

Interpersonal knowledge, skills and abilities needed

  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Work planning, organization and execution – self-motivated with the ability to follow directions and work with minimal direction and supervision
  • Great customer service phone etiquette and general office skills are desired
  • Business relationships – ability to build service relationships and deal effectively with associates applicants and other people
  • General understanding of hotel business demand and flow

 

Requirements

  • Degree in Human Resource Management or a closely related field
  • The ideal candidate will have two or more years of full-service Human Resource Management in the hospitality industry, Hilton/Embassy Suites brand experience. Spanish proficiency is a preference.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing human resources activities
  • Ability to analyze human resources issues and problems, make interpretations of policies, and devise effective courses of action
  • Ability to deal with conflict and act as a mediator
  • Demonstrated proficiency in organizing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines, with the ability to adapt within a changing environment
  • Strong attention to detail, verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management
  • Develops training plans, conducts training needs assessments for employees and conducts training when necessary.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll procedures, benefits/compensation, recruiting, and employee assistance
  • Experience using Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
